Yeah this year was shitty, but at the same time it was a year of improvement. I can talk all day now about how large of a flaming queer I was at the beginning of this year, writing lots of unnecessarily long textwalls every time I felt line talking (usually about shit no one cares about). Oh well, life has regrets.

Yeah sure there's a bunch of talentless crap, loads of spam, bunches of morons of all kinds and ages, but it's really not all bad.
Content is improving so much over the years, not all content, but the good stuff. Visually the artists are all getting better at the stuff, having much cooler looking results. Games have hit some major originality points as designers are striving to do something "different", that will make the public rethink what gaming is.
Animations have also gained a level as the comedic ones have gotten some pretty clever jokes out (depending on what you watch), and the artistic ones have shined through with some pretty excellent creativity.
I'm not cool enough to talk about the audio portal, and the art portal seems like it's kicking ass too.
Newgrounds is a fantastic place for artists to improve their abilities, with an environment that will provide feedback of all kinds. If you're in my boat of not being an artist whatsoever, it's a really cool place to browse and just see all the cool shit happening.
There's like a 5:1 ratio of shit to anything good, but, the good stuff has hit some major high points over time.
Although hitting the "Club The Seal!" button never gets old.
